The LIT Social Justice Center was started in 1998 as a program of the Liberation In Truth Unity Fellowship Church. The Center was started to respond to the health needs of the LIT congregation and the greater Newark community with HIV-related services and programs.
Today, the Social Justice Center is an independent organization where programs continuously evolve to meet the dramatically shifting footprint of the LGBTIQ Community and the HIV epidemic.
The Social Justice Center has 2 locations in Newark, NJ from which it operates:
11 Halsey Street and 47 New Street
The New Street location is the primary site from which HIV-related programs and services are offered. You can reach the Drop-In-Center staff at (973) 424-9555.
11 Halsey is a Community Center where all of our LGBTIQ programming takes place. You can reach the Community Center staff at (973) 621-2100.
